Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa
This temporary visa permits the parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to temporarily reside in Australia. This visa grants you the ability to reside in Australia for a duration of up to 2 years. You are permitted to engage in work and study within Australia; however, government support will not be provided. Additionally, you have the opportunity to apply for a permanent Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143).
To qualify for this visa, sponsorship from an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen is required. Additionally, you must fulfill the balance-of-family test, adhere to all visa conditions, and comply with Australian laws. Moreover, it is essential not to have previously applied for or held a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa when applying for this visa.
