This visa enables the partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to reside in Australia. Subclass 820
Partner Visa (Temporary)
This visa allows the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to temporarily reside in Australia. Obtaining this visa serves as the initial step towards acquiring a permanent Partner visa (subclass 801). It is a temporary visa that directly transitions to the permanent Partner visa. Applicants must be in Australia when applying.
Subclass 801
Partner Visa (Permanent)
This visa enables the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to permanently reside in Australia. It is typically granted to individuals who currently hold a temporary partner visa (subclass 820). This visa is permanent in nature and requires prior possession of a temporary Partner visa (subclass 820)
