Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa

This temporary visa permits a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to visit Australia for a duration of up to 3 or 5 years. With this visa, you are allowed to visit Australia for a period of up to 3 or 5 years per visa and can apply for additional visas to extend your visits for a maximum cumulative period of 10 years in Australia. However, it is important to note that you are not permitted to work while in Australia under this visa.

Before applying for this visa, it is necessary to have an approved parent sponsor. You must be outside Australia, and the application for this visa must be submitted online. Additionally, the visa application must be lodged within 6 months of the sponsorship approval, or within 60 days if permission is granted to apply while in Australia.
